How to [Fix] Windows can't find one of the files in this theme error

Windows can't find one of the files in this theme. Do you still want to save the theme?

Occasionally, Windows users may receive the Windows cannot find one of the files within this theme error prompt with no obvious action that might have caused this. Users who are affected by this issue report that they did not attempt saving or modifying themes before they encountered the error message. Whatever you choose to do at the prompt will not matter since the error will return after a few days regardless of what you do. In addition to Windows 10, Windows 8 and Windows 7 have also been reported to have this problem.

Why does Windows cannot find one of the files in this theme

  1. SettingSyncHost.exe is glitched - This executable is causing the error message to appear. This particular error appears if SettingSyncHost.exe is unable to sync your theme properly across our system.
  2. The error is caused by a custom screensaver - Custom screensavers have been reported to be responsible for this error. A feature of this is likely to show up if you inactively visit the website for a while.
  3. There may be a problem if the active theme is glitching -- It has been speculated that this issue may occur if the active theme is glitching. The affected users have found a solution by changing their active theme and removing leftover folders from the active theme.
